Westchester, Rockland,
and the Tri-State Area
If you thought solar was beyond your budget, think again! There’s never been a better — and more affordable — time to get solar panels installed in Westchester NY, Rockland, and the tri-state area. Federal and state tax credits and incentives make switching to solar easy and affordable. Plus, there are more financing options than ever.
Incentives
The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) offers a generous incentive for going solar, deducted upfront from the total cost of your installation. These incentives are limited, so act now to take advantage of this incredible savings!
New Jersey’s Clean Energy Program allows consumers to earn Solar Renewable Energy Certificates (SRECs), which can provide revenue for the first 15 years of the system’s life. And Connecticut residents can realize substantial upfront savings through the state’s Energize Connecticut program.
Federal tax credits
The federal government encourages homeowners to switch to solar by offering a federal tax credit of 30 percent of the total cost of your system. Tax credits are subtracted, dollar-for-dollar, from your tax bill, and there is currently no cap on how much you can save.
State tax credits and savings
New York currently offers a state tax credit of 25 percent of your solar energy system costs, up to $5,000. In New Jersey and most parts of New York, solar equipment is exempt from state sales tax, and the value of a home’s solar system is exempt from local property taxes. In Connecticut, solar installations are also exempt from state sales tax.
